CONTACT / CORRECTIONS AND CLAIMS
How can a reader send a correction?
Send the words that seem mistaken, the page where they appear, and the paper supporting the correction.
Makes a reported error clear enough to check
What helps the editor check a mistake? A claim may leave out a study's limit or describe a benefit too broadly. A newer paper may also change the evidence. Please quote the sentence that concerns you and identify the page containing it. Include the paper that supports the correction, so the editor can check the actual finding. These details avoid guessing which words or result need attention.

Replies may take time because a small team reads the supporting paper. The editor checks whether the published sentence says more than the study found. The editor cannot arrange treatment or clinic visits. Your quoted words and supporting paper make the correction possible.
Keeps personal medical questions with a doctor who can assess them
What can this email address answer? The editor can check published claims, but cannot assess a person's health. The editor cannot interpret your blood tests, select medicine, or explain how to use a treatment. The address also cannot compare clinics, assess pharmacy preparations, or check the contents of research bottles. An email leaves too much unknown about symptoms, earlier illness, and needed examinations.
A correction message doesn't need private medical records or personal health details.
This mailbox cannot securely hold a full medical history or handle urgent requests. A doctor can examine symptoms and consider medicines, previous illnesses, and any necessary tests together. Your doctor's assessment can also establish which approved treatment suits the problem. Reading may help explain the question, but care depends on someone assessing the person behind that question. The correction address serves a different purpose: checking whether the published words match the evidence.
